Don’t let sub-zero temperatures keep you away from all winter activities
There are other things to do in Killington besides skiing – rent a fat bike!
Winter is here and true to form, Mother Nature is throwing another curve ball at us. We’ve got lot’s of snow and the skiing is great, but sub-zero temperatures and high winds are predicted for this busy President’s holiday weekend, which will make for bitter-cold wind chill’s at higher elevations and possibly closed lifts due to high winds. Don’t let these less then optimal sounding conditions keep you from a fun vacation weekend – there are more things to do in Killington than just going skiing. Rent a fat bike from Fat Bike Vermont.
Fat biking is a great way to get outside and enjoy winter.
Anyone can ride a fat bike. Whether you are an adult or kid, if you know how to ride a regular bike, you can ride a fat bike. Fat biking is a high aerobic activity, so your body heats up quickly and stays warm – regardless of the temperature on the thermometer. There are lots of trails and roads for fat biking in the woods at lower elevations – so temperatures are typically as much as 10°F warmer than temperatures on the ski hill, wind speeds are typically lower at lower elevations and the trees protect you from the wind as well. You don’t need any special clothing to ride a fat bike – you can wear a slimmed down version of what you would wear to go skiing and regular hiking boots or if you are an avid cyclist already, your typical winter cycling wear. Fat biking is fun!
